We have been working with Turnkey, a computer software provider based in the UK, for a number of years now. From branding to web design and marketing, we’ve done it all for Turnkey! More recently, we were tasked with our biggest project yet – a refresh of the branding and to build and design 5 new websites.

This project took SHINE international as we worked through 3 different time zones! First we had the UK offices, then we had CORE Australia to liaise with, and we had the Managing Director and Project Manager in Dubai at the time of the project! However, the process was a success and we did it!

The Design Work

Martyn came up with the original Turnkey branding which created a 4 colour theme that separated the different functions of Turnkey. This new project had him developing the brand styling to give the brand an updated look and feel.

“Our brief was to come up with new brand styling for our long-term client, Turnkey. Their old imagery had been in place for a number of years and it was time for a new direction. We presented a range of initial ideas, which led to the chosen route… our favourite (and thankfully theirs) was a 3D wireframe rendering of the Turnkey ‘key’ device from the brand.

The device contains a colour for each of the company elements that make up the Turnkey group – symbolising the structure of Turnkey and the inner workings and framework of software development. The wireframe offers a dynamic style whilst allowing each brand ‘personality’ to have ownership of its own division. Each division sits on a different plane, offering its own unique perspective but remains linked to the overall group.
The style was developed and rolled out onto the new web designs as well as the Sydney INSOLV exhibition.”

The Website Build and Design

For the web side of the project, Peter and Bryan both worked together so that we were able to achieve the quality and the quantity within the timeframe. Here is Peter’s take on the process and what was needed:

“There was a feeling that having one website encompassing all the company divisions was diluting their key service which is their insolvency software. We decided that there should be 5 separate sites.
There would be a landing site for Turnkey Group that gives an overview of the business and then links out to 4 main websites, one for each service.
By doing this it allows Turnkey to target customers with very specific websites relating to that service, rather than the potential customers having to click through a series of pages before finding the relevant information.
All the sites were built using our own bespoke WordPress content management system. Built using responsive key blocks that can be applied to any page on the site, we feel we have developed a very flexible solution for Turnkey that will allow them to show of the full potential of each key service.”

Peter Johnstone – Senior Web Developer

Being a leading software company, it was essential for the sites to have certain requirements that would meet the business needs for Turnkey and achieve greater results.

“It was a very exciting project to be involved with. Five different websites with their own unique look and feel. It was important to us to deliver a solution that was flexible enough to handle different types of content as well as handling the business needs of Turnkey.
Turnkey now have 5 websites that traverse the digital landscape from mobile to desktop, Turnkey shines.”
